# DMCA notice template for a website's hosting provider

> How to find who hosts a copying website and a DMCA notice template to send to the host's abuse or copyright contact.

When a standalone website copies your photos and ignores you, its **hosting provider** can remove the content. To find the host, look the domain up with the [ICANN lookup tool](https://lookup.icann.org/) or an "IP to host" lookup, then search for the host's DMCA or abuse contact. Sites behind Cloudflare: use Cloudflare's abuse form, which forwards the report to the real host.

## Template

```text
Subject: DMCA notice — infringing content hosted on your network ([DOMAIN])
To the abuse / copyright team at [HOSTING PROVIDER],
The website [DOMAIN], which appears to be hosted on your network, displays my copyrighted product photographs without authorization.
Infringing URL(s):
[INFRINGING URL 1]
[INFRINGING URL 2]
Original work: product photographs of "[PRODUCT NAME]", first published at [YOUR LISTING URL] on [DATE].
I have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law. The information in this notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the owner of the copyright that is allegedly infringed.
Name: [YOUR FULL NAME]
Address: [POSTAL ADDRESS]
Email: [EMAIL]
Phone: [PHONE]
Signed: [YOUR FULL NAME]
Date: [DATE]
```

## Tips

- Hosts move faster when you list exact URLs, not just the domain.
- Archive the infringing page first, so you keep evidence if it changes.

## Questions

**What if the host is outside the US?**

Many international hosts still accept DMCA-style notices. Some EU hosts prefer a notice under the Digital Services Act; the same information applies.
