How to report a copy of your product on Alibaba
Step-by-step: where to report a Alibaba listing that uses your product photos, what to include, and what happens next. Free notice generator included.
If a Alibaba listing is using your product photo, the fastest route is Alibaba's own reporting process. Here's exactly where to go and what to include.
Where to report
Alibaba Group IPP portal — Register once on IPP with your Evidence Packet as proof of rights.
What to include
- The exact URL of the infringing Alibaba listing.
- Your original work — the URL of your own listing and the date it was published.
- Your original photo file, if the form allows attachments.
- Your contact details.
- A good-faith statement and an accuracy statement under penalty of perjury (see the DMCA notice guide).
You can generate a ready-to-paste notice with our free takedown notice generator.
Alibaba-specific tips
- Use the same IPP account you'd use for AliExpress.
- Wholesale listings often reuse one photo across many product pages — search your image again to find all of them.
- Include the supplier name shown on the listing.
Language
English is accepted; a Chinese version can help.
What happens next
Track cases in the IPP portal. Expect relists under new product IDs from large suppliers.
Before you report: save evidence
Listings can disappear and reappear under new IDs. Before reporting, save the URL, a screenshot and an Internet Archive snapshot (web.archive.org → “Save Page Now”). See someone stole my product photos for the full checklist.
Platform processes change; follow the current instructions on Alibaba's own pages. General information, not legal advice. MakerSentry is not affiliated with Alibaba.
Keeps dated proof of every listing, finds copies weekly, tracks takedowns and builds your appeal if Etsy removes a listing.
