# Amazon Handmade removed my listing — IP complaints and handmade policy

> Why Amazon Handmade listings get removed (intellectual property complaints, handmade eligibility, authenticity), how to get a complaint retracted, and how to appeal.

Amazon Handmade is for products made, altered or hand-assembled by artisans. Listings come down for three main reasons.

## 1. Intellectual property complaints

A rights owner (or someone claiming to be one) reports your listing. You'll see it in **Account Health** in Seller Central with the complainant's contact details.

- **If it's mistaken or false**, ask the complainant to retract it — use the [retraction request template](/templates/ip-complaint-retraction-request) — and appeal in Account Health with your proof: original photo files, design files, process photos and the date your listing went live.
- **If it's valid**, remove the item and don't relist it.

## 2. Handmade eligibility

Amazon reviews Handmade applications and can remove items it doesn't consider handmade — for example finished goods bought from a supplier. Keep process photos and material receipts; they answer this question directly.

## 3. Authenticity and "copied listing" issues

When factories copy a maker's photos onto regular Amazon listings, the original can look like the copy. Report those listings through Amazon's [Report Infringement form](/report/amazon) so your photos aren't attached to someone else's product.

## Evidence that helps on Amazon

| Evidence | Why |
|---|---|
| Original camera files | Shows you took the photos, and when |
| Process photos / video | Shows the item is made by you |
| Earlier listings elsewhere (Etsy, your site) with dates | Shows you sold it first |
| Archive snapshots | Independent dates |

## Questions

**Can I appeal an IP complaint on Amazon?**

Yes, through Account Health in Seller Central. If the complaint is mistaken or false, the fastest route is often a retraction from the rights owner; Amazon also accepts appeals with supporting evidence.

**Do IP complaints affect my account health?**

Yes. Amazon tracks intellectual property complaints in Account Health, and too many can put the account at risk.
