# MakerSentry

> MakerSentry protects handmade sellers from copycats — Etsy first, plus Shopify stores, Amazon Handmade, eBay and makers' own websites. It keeps timestamped proof of authorship for every listing, finds copies of a maker's product photos on marketplaces like AliExpress, Temu, Amazon and Alibaba, drafts platform-specific takedown notices and tracks them until removed, and builds evidence-based appeals when Etsy removes a genuine maker's listing under its Creativity Standards.

Key facts:
- Who it's for: independent makers and small studios. Etsy shops connect through the Etsy API; Shopify stores import automatically from their public catalog; Amazon Handmade, eBay and own-website listings are added by URL. Etsy appeals and Deactivation Rescue are Etsy-specific.
- Pricing: Starter $19/month (50 listings, weekly scans), Pro $49/month (250 listings, daily bestseller scans, multilingual notices, pre-flight check), Studio $99/month (3 shops, 1,000 listings). One-time Deactivation Rescue: $49. Free scan of 3 listings.
- How matching works: reverse image search, then each candidate is compared to the original photo by a vision model (Cloudflare Clef); low-confidence matches are discarded.
- Proof Vault: original photos stored write-once with SHA-256 hashes and server timestamps; listing pages archived by the Internet Archive.
- Review Shield: syncs a shop's Etsy reviews daily, flags runs of suspicious low reviews (delivery complaints on digital downloads, clusters, buyers who never reply, out-of-character ratings), drafts report text for each, writes one support request about the whole pattern, and produces a dated case file PDF. It doesn't remove reviews; Etsy decides.
- Rescue-by-email: forwarding Etsy's removal email to a private address starts a priority scan and produces an appeal letter plus an evidence PDF.
